Laura Willis has never owned a car but frequently goes on outdoor excursions and vacations using public transportation, bikes and rental cars.
She was born in Staten Island and raised in beautiful rural Dutchess County (our Hudson Valley tour goes by the house where she grew up!) where she first started camping with the Girl Scouts and her family.
Although Laura only got her first bike in 2006, she quickly found that bike riding improved her mobility and quality of life as a NYC resident. Bike riding also helped her to explore new areas she never would have gone to otherwise, especially when the bike rides were combined with camping.
Laura has several years of experience as a trip leader for the Appalachian Mountain Club and believes that getting outside is worth the hassle.
Laura has a day job working in nonprofit management assistance as the director of business development at a consulting firm.
